MY PROCESS ON APPLYING CERAMIC COATING

As you may already know, Ceramic Coating is one of the best Paint protectors for your car, RV, boats or even planes.

Here at LMA Premium Detail we use nothing but the best products. This is why we are an authorized installer by SystemX and use only their products. Several people in the Tulsa and Broken Arrow area have asked what brand of ceramic coating we install and after explaining the benefits of a professional grade coating they understand and appreciate why we use this brand. (maybe soon I'll explain the difference)

Okay, back to the topic :)

Our goal is to complete the vehicle all in 1 working day, however, depending on the condition of the vehicle it can vary between 1 – 2 days.
Let’s jump right into the process.

1) Clean wheels and tires with our various chemicals and brushes
2) Power wash the vehicle to rinse off any loose dirt or debris
3) Hand Wash the entire vehicle using proper techniques to avoid swirl marks or debris scratches.
4) While the vehicle is still wet, spray Iron Decontamination to the whole car, including Glass, Paint, and rims. Avoid spraying directly to plastics as it can discolor. Wait about 5 minute. The product will reach to the iron, making it change colors to purple. If the water did not turn purple, it means that there were no Iron contamination on the surface. After 5 minutes, Rinse your vehicle fully, leaving no Iron Decontamination product on the car.
5) Clay Bar Process- Clay it entirely to restore the paint to a smooth-as-glass surface, removing any contamination from its surface. We use no-rinse formula as a lubricate for this process.
6) Super Dry - Dry vehicle off completely using a clean microfiber towel or if you have a blow-dryer use it for all crevices. Make sure the vehicle is completely dry so it's easier to polish for the next step.
7) Clean all the glass
8) Spray our panel prep on each panel to remove any oils and old waxes or sealants left on the vehicle
9) Machine Polish - Time to level out your paint and remove any light surface paint imperfections. Using a dual action buffer, Polish your brand new vehicle entirely to remove any light defects and level out the clear-coat. You may use a light polishing pad with a finishing polishing product without fillers. No waxes nor sealants.
If you are coating an used vehicle with more swirl marks or scratches, make sure to to a full paint correction with multiple polishing stages. Since the coating will be there in your vehicle for many years, it's recommended to make sure you are coating a near-perfect paint.
9) Apply the coating - Before you begin, make sure to put on gloves. Using a proper pad, apply the coating solution to the car in horizontal and vertical swipes. This will ensure that you don't miss any spots on the surface and that the coating is even. Swap the pads as soon as the solution becomes dry and hard.

Allow the coating to dry for a few minutes. To find out how long you should wait, read the ceramic coating instructions on the ceramic coating package you're using.

After you've waited the appropriate amount of time, use a microfiber cloth to give your car a smooth and glossy finish.

Curing Process

Leave the car in your garage for at least 48 hours after applying the ceramic coating to allow the coating to properly adhere to the surface. No water to the vehicle after 72 hours. No washing for longer than 2 full weeks.
